Flux Consulting have partnered with a leading multidisciplinary property and construction consultancy based in Suffolk. Theyspecialize in providing innovative and sustainable solutions across various sectors, including education, healthcare, and local government. As theycontinue to expand, theyare seeking a skilled and experienced Head of Hard FM to lead theirfacilities management team.

You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of hard facilities management, including planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, and statutory compliance. Youwill have extensive knowledge of water hygiene, asbestos management, and other key compliance areas. In addition, you will have a proven track record of leading teams and managing contractors to ensure high-quality service delivery.

Key responsibilities of this position will include;

  • Leadership: Manage and inspire the Hard FM team, providing clear direction and support to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM): Oversee the development, implementation, and management of PPM schedules to ensure all assets are maintained in line with best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Reactive Maintenance: Ensure timely and efficient response to all reactive maintenance requests, minimizing downtime and disruption.
  • Compliance Management:Ensure full compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, including water hygiene, asbestos management, and other statutory obligations.
  • Contractor Management: Oversee the performance of external contractors, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standard and within agreed timelines and budgets.
  • Performance Monitoring: Implement and monitor KPIs and SLAs to ensure continuous improvement in service delivery.
  • Budget Management: Manage budgets effectively, ensuring cost efficiency without compromising on quality or compliance.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks related to Hard FM and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and successful collaboration.

Qualifications and experience required for this position include:

  • Proven experience in a senior Hard FM role, with a strong understanding of PPM, reactive maintenance, and statutory compliance.
  • Extensive knowledge of water hygiene, asbestos management, and other key compliance areas.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, driving performance and achieving targets.
  • Strong contractor management skills with a focus on quality and timely delivery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant qualifications in facilities management, engineering, or a related field are desirable.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH certification is an advantage.
