We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Cover Supervisors to join various secondary schools in Ipswich. This role is ideal for those who have a passion for education and are looking to further their experience within secondary school settings. Working through Reed Education, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic educational environment, providing support and continuity for students in the absence of their regular teachers.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Supervise classes during the short-term absence of the teaching staff, ensuring that pre-set work is completed.
  • Maintain a good order and discipline amongst pupils, safeguarding their health and safety.
  • Assist students with their work as per the teacher's instructions.
  • Manage the behaviour of pupils whilst they are undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment.
  • Respond to any questions from pupils about process and procedures.
  • Deal with any immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Collect completed work after the lesson and pass to the appropriate teacher.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience in a similar role within an educational setting is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to promote focus and discipline.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with students.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work.
  • Enhanced DBS check (Reed Education can assist with this process).
