  • Immediate start for the right applicant with flexible working hours (39 hours per week).
  • Paying £16.30 per hour, 25 days holiday, and excellent additional benefits.

Workshop Service Technician required for Ipswich based engineering company. The successful candidate will be based in the main workshop where you will build, refurb and service mechanical plant and equipment.

Additional duties will include: -

  • Supporting the workshop supervisor to meet demand and requirements.
  • Contribute to record keeping, associated with reworking the machinery to include inspection, parts used (including consumables), labour and accessories. 
  • Support the workshop supervisor in working closely with Quality, Engineering and Manufacturing to assess machines as they are reworked for general wear and tear and areas for improvement.
  • Where machines are sold with a Pre-Delivery Inspection or assembly is required for sale, work with the supervisor to agree and deliver to the agreed time scales to meet customer delivery requirements and expectations.
  • To undertake any other reasonable tasks required by the Company, this may also include ad-hoc travel across the UK and overseas.

Minimal Qualifications/Experience/Skills required: -

  • Engineering Mechanical workshop experience is essential with good mechanical understanding and knowledge.
  • Related industry Apprenticeship Level 3 or equivalent as a minimum.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.
  • Action orientated and target driven.
  • Driving licence with the ability to tow is desirable.
