Workshop Foreman | Irvine | Negotiable DOE

Role Overview
Avenue are seeking a dedicated and experienced Structural Steel Working Foreman to oversee and coordinate structural steel projects within our clients organisation based their workshop in Irvine. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a hands-on approach to managing daily operations and workforce. As a Working Foreman, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively plan and allocate manpower in accordance with production requirements
  • Supervise daily operations and manage the workflow of the team to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Ability and requirement to be able to take off materials from drawings and order required materials prior to issuing work to shop floor
  • Monitor work quality and adherence to safety regulations, addressing any issues promptly.
  • Conduct regular inspections of workshop to ensure compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of work progress, materials used, and any incidents that occur on-site.
  • Liaise with management to report on project status and any resource requirements.
  • Conduct regular toolbox talks/safety meetings and ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols and practices.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution and address any issues that arise on-site.
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction documents.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Handle all minor disciplinary issues in line with the grievance procedures and communicate all disciplinary issues to Director.


Job Type: Full-time, temporary to permanent contract
Hours : 39 hours basic per week with overtime
Rate of Pay: Negotiable dependent on experience -
