Head of IT

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of IT to join a prominent wood processing company. This full-time role offers excellent benefits and a competitive salary.

As a Head of IT, you'll lead the IT function and IS/IT strategy, ensuring optimal operations, team management, and security. This role is based in Central Ireland, with frequent travel across Ireland and the UK.

You will be responsible for:

• Devise the group's IS/IT strategy and oversee necessary infrastructure and systems.
• Set IS/IT department objectives and strategies.
• Implement suitable technologies, including cloud solutions.
• Ensure comprehensive information stack security.
• Manage IT suppliers, partners and oversee IT infrastructure and performance.
• Plan new solution implementation and prepare an annual IT budget.
• Disaster recovery procedures and plans.
• Analyse IT costs, value, and risks for board recommendations.

What we are looking for:

• Previously worked as Head of IT, Head of IS, IT Manager, IT Director, Head of IT Operations or in a similar role.
• Ideally have experience in a large-scale, multi-site manufacturing environment.
• IT hardware, software, and cloud solutions expertise.
• Background in IT systems design and implementation.
• Data analysis, budgeting, and business operations understanding.
• BSc/BA in IT, computer science, engineering (MSc/MA preferred)
