Days Role (Mon-Fri)

A fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Team Leader (Mechanical Bias) to join the team at a global manufacturing company at a site in Irvine.

Our client is a global leader in the packaging industry with revenues of circa $9 billion. They invest heavily into their manufacturing facilities around the world and are passionate about sustainability and innovation.

As Maintenance Team Leader you will co-ordinate activities of the Mechanical and Facilities team ensuring high levels of equipment availability and efficiencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Delegate work to the team, ensuring high level of mechanical repair, installation and maintenance of equipment and factory services
  • Work closely with operations teams to respond to breakdowns and maximise performance
  • Minimise downtime by implementing effective preventative maintenance schedules and inspections
  • Plan and record all maintenance work and schedules via CMMS (SAP)
  • Provide hands on technical support to the team
  • Ensure all equipment is available, order parts and manage critical spares
  • Contractor management; permits, risk assessments
  • Assist in planning and management of shutdowns
  • Manage time and attendance, holidays, return to works, employee feedback

Key Requirements:

  • Qualified Mechanical Engineer (C&G, NVQ 3, HNC)
  • Min 5 years' experience of mechanical maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Min 2 years' experience as a Maintenance Supervisor/Team Leader or similar
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Knowledge/experience of a Computerised Maintenance Management System - advantageous
  • Experience of engineering services; water, compressed air. Legionella - advantageous
  • Excellent leadership, coaching skills
  • Proactive with improvement mindset
  • Team player
  • Ability to promote change and continuous improvement
