Our client, a leading manufacturing business with ambitious growth across all areas of the company and group, is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join their state-of-the-art facility in Irvine. The company utilises the latest technology to manufacture its products and is looking for a dedicated professional to lead and coordinate manufacturing productivity, ensuring all production metrics are achieved, including throughput, changeover times, minimising downtime, and driving ongoing improvements.

Role Overview:

You will report to the Head of Plant and be responsible for managing the productivity of all manufacturing staff. You will oversee the manufacturing processes, ensuring all orders are produced and dispatched on time while maintaining high standards of operational, health and safety, and business controls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the plant meets customer quality, service, and safety goals through effective management of the manufacturing unit.
  • Lead and manage assigned operations manufacturing and/or support functions on-site.
  • Manage, direct, and lead project teams to develop and implement strategic changes within the plant.
  • Oversee the reporting and resolution of incidents/accidents, ensuring the correct use of PPE.
  • Foster strong working relationships with all departments to ensure a cohesive approach to meeting budgeted metrics and KPIs.
  • Ensure materials are delivered and returned in line with good manufacturing practice standards, including proper labelling, wrapping, storage, and transport.
  • Manage resources across each shift, based on the production schedule, and control overtime spend and other production costs.
  • Drive improvements in standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement in production and safety.
  • Take ownership of product procurement and stock contracts.
  • Ensure maximum site uptime through an effective preventative maintenance programme.

Key Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience operating at a similar level within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record in good manufacturing practices (GMP) and lean principles.
  • Ability to collaborate with design teams to ensure manufacturing optimisation and on-time delivery.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Passionate about delivering exceptional results and meeting both customer and company expectations.
  • IT literate with experience in using manufacturing software and systems.
