SRS Partnershipis working with a fantastic and well-established manufacturing company in Irvine who are looking to add a Production Shift Supervisor to their existing Management team.

Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing, supporting and developing a shift-based team in the manufacturing of timber products.

The main responsibilities will be as follows:

Work with the Production Manager to lead a Shift Team to achieve production and output targets/KPI on a daily basis and lead smaller process improvement teams as assigned.

Setting and monitoring weekly targets and objectives for the Shift.

Ensuring the highest standards of product quality, and integrity are achieved.

Drive daily improvement in line with management objectives around quality & safety standards

Maintaining high levels of Housekeeping through rigorous conformance with5sprinciples.

Drive safe working practices and conduct of the team, contractors and visitors.

Ensuring the team are properly trained and managed to work in a safe, quality conscious and effective way.

Executing meaningful Performance Development Reviews of team members bi-annually.

Maintaining positive working relationships & ensuring effective communication at all levels

Leading the team to optimise performance in terms of output, quality, costs, etc.

Ensuring all work areas & equipment within your control are regularly and properly maintained to deliver optimum performance.

Driving initiatives to maximise employee contribution and driving improvements in product quality and process efficiencies.

Liaising with Safety, logistics, technical and maintenance teams to achieve optimum results.

You will be expected to cover for the Managers and in their absence support them in other areas of Operations as and when required. Additionally, you will be an active member of the manufacturing staff contributing to the overall department performance plan in the areas of Safety, Quality, Output, People Management and Cost Interfacing with HR in relation to employee relations issues.

Required Experience/Qualifications

Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma qualification and or Experience is required.

Experience of continuous process production lines would be beneficial.

The ability to communicate clear objectives and motivate staff to achieve more is the key to success for this role.

A strong understanding of 5s and the role it plays in driving both safety and workplace efficiencies.

Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills

A strong understanding and working experience in the timber frame manufacturing Industry would be preferred.

You will also be an exceptional team player who can galvanise support for achieving key objectives. You will need to be a strong leader in change and seeking out improvements who can manage challenging environments.
