SEND Support Officer - 2-year temp booking.Â
This role involves a mix of administrative tasks, direct support for the SENCO, and some management responsibilities.
Main Purpose of the Job:
- Provide SEND support to the Strategic SENCO and Deputy SENCO.
- Assist with the Annual Review Process and other SEND functions.
- Collaborate as a member of the SEND Team.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks:
Administrative:
- Oversee all administrative functions related to SEND.
- Coordinate and prioritize work with the SENCO and Deputy SENCO.
- Manage diaries, arrange meetings, and handle related paperwork.
- Draft and file confidential reports.
- Communicate with parents and professional agencies.
- Hold fortnightly administrative meetings and share minutes with the Headteacher.
SENCO Support:
- Manage the Annual Review calendar and processes.
- Ensure provision maps are up to date.
- Collate information and draft reports.
- Represent the SENCO in staff briefings.
- Oversee the Learning Support Register.
General:
- Perform other duties as requested by the Line Manager.
- Line manage Literacy TAs and oversee their work.
- Ensure timely logging and analysis of literacy assessment data.
- Oversee the collation of SEND data and information.
Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Knowledge of SIMS software.
- Effective telephone manner and confidence in dealing with stakeholders.
- GCSEs or equivalent in English/Maths.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitivity to student needs.
- Good working knowledge of SEND policies and legislation.
Experience:
- Administrative support experience.
- Experience managing staff.
- Experience in educational settings.
