Teacher Assistant - Full time - West London - November start

Are you a compassionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant looking to embark on an exciting job opportunity? Then look no further!

We are currently seeking a full time Teacher Assistant to help support young adults through education and set them up for life after college. You will be working 35 hours per week, Monday - Friday. You will be required to work 42 weeks per year but get paid for 52 weeks per year.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to learners so they can access the curriculum, participate in learning and experience sense of achievement whilst also promoting their Independence and social inclusion.
  • Encourage self regulation to support access to learning and be willing to alter your own behavioural styles to best support learner engagement.
  • Train in and consistently apply Positive Behaviour Support strategies / handling techniques

Person Specification:

  • Interest in, and/or knowledge of, autism
  • To have the physical and emotional resilience to work with autistic children/YP who may have behaviours that challenge
  • Willing to work with autistic children or young adults with learning disabilities
