Our client is an established and successful company based in Jarrow. They are currently looking for a Facilities Manager to join their team. If you are interested and meet the person specification of the job role, please apply below.

The Job You’ll be Doing

  • Oversee the day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of the North East Depots.
  • Management of facilities staff.
  • Collaborate with Product Support Managers (PSMs) in respective regions to oversee the maintenance of all depots nationwide.
  • Contract and relationship management of facilities management providers.
  • Audit and evaluate maintenance contractors, ensuring compliance with quality standards.
  • Management and development of effective CCTV and Access Control systems throughout the Company, ensuring both systems continue to be fit for purpose, compliant and meet Company objectives.
  • Manage all planned preventative maintenance and response maintenance activities for all Depots. This includes identifying and specifying required planned maintenance activities and managing associated maintenance contracts to ensure the satisfactory completion of all activities.
  • Develop and implement a consistent process and monitoring/tracking system for all Depots to assist with the efficient management of maintenance requests.
  • Develop and maintain a Forward Maintenance Plan for all Depots which will reflect lease responsibilities, operational requirements, and budget availability. Plan, organise, specify, procure and Project Manage the programme of works, all within the agreed timescale and budget, taking full recognition of any operational impacts and business continuity issues.
  • Management of facilities and security staff.
  • Undertake regular reviews with your Team to ensure that all business deliverables are being achieved and provide support and guidance where required.
  • Enhance your team's skills and capabilities through developing their knowledge and skills.
  • Take responsibility for the overall security of the North East sites and stock yards.
  • Contract and relationship management of external security providers.
  • Implement security protocols and out of hours procedures to safeguard assets across all sites.

About You

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • IWFM Level 3 or above qualified.
  • Relevant H&S qualification (IOSH, NEBOSH etc.) or experience gained from undertaking H&S activities in a previous role.
  • Educated to A Level standard with GCSE’s Grade C passes, to include English and Maths or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience in buildings and ground maintenance gained from undertaking a similar role.
  • Intermediate level of computer literacy, to include MS Power Point, Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Ability to analyse financial data and create reports/business cases based on findings.
  • Excellent time management skills, is a forward thinker with strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, with the aptitude to think on your feet and resolve issues that may arise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent budgetary and cost control abilities.
  • Knowledge of security protocols and lease management.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with energy and waste management practices.
