Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Hand Sanding and Waxing Specialist to join our clients team in Jarrow. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring highest standards of quality and finish. This position requires a keen eye for detail and excellent manual dexterity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform hand sanding on various types of wooden product to prepare surfaces for finishing.
- Apply wax and other finishes to pieces, ensuring an even and high-quality finish.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet company standards for quality and craftsmanship.
- Collaborate with other team members to achieve production goals and maintain workflow efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in hand sanding and waxing.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Knowledge of different wood types and their finishing requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods and handle heavy materials.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a woodworking or manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with other woodworking techniques and tools.
- Basic understanding of health and safety regulations related to woodworking.
This is a 6 month fix term contract which will go permanent for the right candidate.
