Timothy Taylor’s Brewery, a proudly family-owned business with over 165 years of history, is seeking a People Manager to lead and develop the HR function during an exciting period of growth. With a strong focus on tradition, collaboration, and sustainability, this is an opportunity to help shape the future of an iconic Yorkshire brand.

The OpportunityIn this newly created, standalone role, you’ll take ownership of the people strategy, supporting the business as it grows and modernises. Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll balance strategic and operational HR responsibilities, from harmonising contracts and modernising policies to enhancing employee engagement and developing talent. This is a hands-on role where you’ll immerse yourself in the culture, build relationships across the business, and drive meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement the people strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Build Timothy Taylor’s employer brand to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
  • Harmonise contracts, modernise policies, and ensure legal compliance.
  • Coach and upskill managers to lead effectively and embed the company’s values.
  • Foster a culture of inclusion, collaboration, and employee engagement.
  • Manage day-to-day HR operations, including payroll support, absence management, and ER.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in a senior or standalone HR role, ideally within an SME.
  • CIPD-qualified with strong knowledge of UK employment law.
  • A hands-on, proactive approach and excellent communication skills.
  • A track record of driving cultural change and supporting business growth.
