Located in a beautiful setting just outside of Kendal, they are a trusted partner for many local businesses and individuals. As a Qualified Accountant, you will maintain financial records for a diverse portfolio of clients and manage the day-to-day responsibilities of the practice team.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Conduct client meetings both virtually and face-to-face.
  • Provide complex tax advice and prepare annual accounts.
  • Review and sign off on work completed by the accounting team.
  • Handle self-assessment tax returns, HMRC audits, and investigations.
  • Address client complaints and manage complex issues efficiently.
  • Monitor and analyse data related to KPIs and attend management meetings as required.
  • Act as an ambassador for the firm, promoting high standards of behaviour and supporting company objectives.
  • Commit to professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Use expertise to mentor and develop other staff members, contributing to the future success of the firm.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
  • Proficient in cloud accounting software such as FreeAgent, QuickBooks, and Xero.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing a client portfolio and team.
  • Strong accounting and taxation knowledge, including income tax, corporation tax, VAT, and PAYE.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on providing professional and accurate service to clients.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to coordinate and report to senior management.
  • Exceptional time management skills, ensuring all tasks are completed daily and deadlines are met.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
  • Knowledge of capital gains and inheritance tax.
  • Experience with HMRC audits and investigations.
  • Experience in performance management.
