About the Role

Foxgroves Recruitment is pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a reputable company located just outside Kendal. We are looking for an organised and diligent Accounts Assistant to join their finance team. This role is perfect for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for numbers, looking to grow their career in finance.

Key Duties:
  • Bookkeeping: Accurately recording financial transactions and maintaining up-to-date financial records.
  • Accounts Payable/Receivable: Processing invoices, managing supplier payments, and ensuring timely collection of receivables.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconciling bank statements to ensure all records are accurate and up to date.
  • Payroll Support: Assisting with payroll calculations and ensuring all employees are paid correctly and on time.
  • Expense Reporting: Processing expense claims and ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • VAT and Tax Returns: Assisting in the preparation and submission of VAT returns and other tax-related documents.
  • Financial Reporting: Supporting the preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Data Entry: Entering and updating financial data in the companys accounting software.
  • Administrative Support: Providing general administrative support to the finance team as needed.
Requirements:
  • Educational Background: A Level in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. AAT qualification or studying towards it is a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience in an accounting or finance role is preferred.
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks).
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team Player: Ability to work well within a team and support colleagues.
