Reed Education is dedicated to providing Whole School Recruitment to Secondary Schools across Cumbria & Lancashire. We are currently seeking a dynamic Criminology & Sociology Teacher to join a school in South Cumbria immediately on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the curriculum, effective communication skills, and a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment, particularly at A Level.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and informative lessons in Criminology and Sociology to KS5 students.
  • Prepare lesson plans and materials based on the curriculum requirements.
  • Assess and evaluate studentsā€™ progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to enhance the curriculum and student learning experiences.
  • Participate in school meetings and events.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Recent relevant experience teaching Criminology and Sociology at KS5.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and capable of acting as a good role model displaying qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills; must be trustworthy, punctual, patient, and confident when working with students.
