Role details

As Financial Controller, you will take ownership of the financial health and reporting of the organisation while playing a pivotal role in driving commercial success. Reporting to the Finance Director, you'll lead a high-performing finance team, ensuring robust financial management and providing critical insights to support business growth and performance.

Responsibilities of the Financial Controller

  • Act as a key partner to the leadership team, providing expert financial advice to influence strategic decision-making.
  • Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and financial forecasts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Deliver in-depth financial analysis to identify opportunities for revenue growth, cost optimisation, and improved profitability.
  • Manage cash flow and working capital effectively, ensuring the business is positioned for growth.
  • Partner with external stakeholders to maintain strong financial governance.

What the successful candidate will bring

  • Fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, or equivalent).
  • Extensive experience in a finance leadership role, ideally in a commercially focused environment.
  • Proven ability to act as a business partner, influencing non-finance stakeholders and driving performance.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge combined with excellent analytical and strategic skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a hands-on, proactive approach.
