Finance Assistant

The Company

Our client is a well-established and rapidly growing transport and logistics business operating across the UK and Europe. With a strong presence in both road and air freight, they are expanding their finance and administrative functions and require a detail-oriented Finance Assistant to support their operations.

The Role

The Office Administrator will be responsible for managing financial transactions, payroll, and general office administration. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently while also collaborating with finance and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing accounts payable and receivable, maintaining financial records, and reconciling bank statements.
  • Managing payroll processing, pension contributions, and deductions
  • Handling invoicing, chasing debtors, and ensuring smooth credit control processes.
  • Coordinating vehicle-related expenses, including fuel, tolls, and fines (experience not essential but desirable)
  • Managing office supplies and maintaining essential business records.
  • Liaising with international suppliers, clients, and authorities to support business operations.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least two years of experience in bookkeeping, payroll processing, and office administration.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (essential) and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent numerical skills, and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • A proactive and organised approach to managing administrative tasks.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team while also taking ownership of responsibilities.

The Salary
