We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Management Accounts Assistant to join our clients team based in Kettering. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic, multi-client environment, providing key financial insights and support to help clients make informed business decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare timely and accurate periodic management reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, performance analyses, cashflow forecasts, and budget reviews.
  • Gather necessary data from clients and internal teams to ensure accurate month-end closures, meeting client expectations.
  • Conduct detailed reviews of financial data, including balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and validity, and providing feedback where required.
  • Develop client-focused, user-friendly reporting solutions using Business Intelligence tools.
  • Assist with the development of budgets and forecasts to provide clients with up-to-date, high-quality financial information.
  • Offer financial expertise and guidance to team members to ensure accurate production of financial data.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing clear financial insights, analysis, and explanations from management accounting packs, cashflow forecasts, and other business reports.
  • Create ad hoc reports and data analyses to support client decision-making.
  • Support the year-end process by reviewing data and supplying necessary information to compliance teams and external auditors.
  • Respond promptly to client queries, delivering exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, fostering trust and collaboration.
  • Participate in the team phone rota to ensure client support coverage.

Core Competencies:

  • Proven ability to manage multiple clients and balance competing deadlines.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes and principles.
  • Skilled in interpreting profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with a range of accounting software.
  • A collaborative team player with a proactive approach.

Experience and Skills Requirements:

  • AAT qualified or currently studying towards ACCA/CIMA, or equivalent qualification by experience.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and manipulate complex datasets.
  • Proven experience with Business Intelligence tools.
  • Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.
