- Assisting in the development of planning policy and guidance through research, consultation, and formal adoption processes.
- Undertaking data analysis and research to inform policy decisions and support Local Plan objectives.
- Preparing statements and representing the Council at hearings, inquiries and consultations.
- A relevant degree or equivalent qualification that enables future access to Chartered Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI).
- Understanding of the English Planning System.
- Good communication and report writing skills, with the ability to manage your own workload and travel across the Council’s administrative area.
- Experience with computerised planning systems and GIS.
- Knowledge of current planning legislation and policy practices.
- Ability to carry out outdoor site visits and contribute to public engagement events.
