Role Overview

As an SEN Teaching Assistant with a focus on Behaviour Support, you'll provide targeted assistance to students with additional behavioural needs, helping them to thrive within a structured, inclusive learning environment. Working alongside class teachers and the SENCo, you'll support individual students, implement behaviour strategies, and create a positive, calm setting that encourages personal growth and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for students with behavioural needs, adapting activities to create a positive learning experience
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SEN staff to develop behaviour management strategies tailored to individual student needs
  • Promote positive social interactions and encourage self-regulation skills to support students' emotional well-being
  • Track and document student progress, offering constructive feedback to teachers, parents, and support staff
  • Uphold a calm, patient approach, helping students to build confidence, resilience, and positive behavioural patterns
