Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) - Year 3

Location: Northampton NN7Hours: Part-Time 8:30am-12:30amSalary: £12-£15 per hour ( £50-£60 per day)

We are seeking a caring and committed Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA).

The successful candidate will primarily support a Year 3 child with an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP).

When not supporting the child, you will assist as a general Teaching Assistant within the Year 3 classroom, helping the teacher with a range of classroom activities and ensuring a positive learning environment for all students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with specific learning needs, in line with their EHCP.
  • Assist with classroom tasks, ensuring the child remains engaged and supported during lessons.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to monitor and report on the child's progress.
  • Adapt learning materials to support the child's development and ensure inclusion in all activities.
  • During the child's absence (outside of 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM), assist the Year 3 teaching team with general classroom duties, group work, and other tasks as needed.
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting the educational and emotional development of young learners.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the wider teaching team.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and a positive learning environment for all students.
  • Relevant qualifications are desirable.
