Are you a highly skilled Management Accountant looking for an exciting opportunity to showcase your expertise? Our client, a dynamic public sector organisation, is seeking a talented individual to join their team as a Management Accountant. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical business partnering in all aspects of monthly reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. You will play a crucial role in producing robust management information to enable effective decision-making by senior management.

What's in it for you?

  • Be the single point of contact for finance-related queries and problem-solving to budget holders within your portfolio.
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to provide financial advice, analysis, coaching, and challenge to budget holders.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting exercises, ensuring that the organisation follows the principles of managing public funds.
  • Proactively manage customer relationships to ensure timely cashflows.
  • Work closely with the Business Systems Support team to develop additional reporting and enhance stakeholder relationships.
  • Ensure data integrity in Oracle (Fusion and EPM) and take corrective action for errors and issues.
  • Support key projects, business cases, and reports for management groups and committees.
  • Take part in various financial exercises and provide ad-hoc analysis as required.
  • Contribute to the production of accurate and timely end-of-year accounts, maintaining financial controls and supporting internal and external audits.

Job Requirements:

  • AAT Qualified or actively studying towards another recognised accountancy qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA).
  • 2-3 years of experience in an accountancy environment within industry or the public sector.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in using Enterprise Resource Planning systems and MS Office applications.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven ability to manage interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High degree of numeracy and technical aptitude.
  • Organised, proactive, and committed to meeting critical deadlines.
  • Willingness to work in a national environment with colleagues in various locations.
