Revenues Recovery Officer

Salary per hour - £16.49 PAYE//£20.43 Ltd Umbrella Location: Hybrid - Oxford Town Hall/Work from HomeJob Type: Full-time, 37 hours per week

In this dynamic role, you will ensure the effective collection of Council Tax, Business Rates, and Housing Benefit overpayments. We are looking for individuals with excellent customer service and negotiation skills, who are hardworking and flexible, to enhance a vibrant and successful team.

As a Revenues Recovery Officer, you will:

  • Collect monies owed, including Council Tax and Business Rates this role is a proactive role that does include call outs to customers!
  • Refer suitable debtors to Advice Centres and take recovery action where a plan cannot be agreed.
  • Identify cases suitable for legal enforcement or write-off.
  • Work closely with the Revenues Recovery Team to ensure efficient operation and compliance with legal standards.

What are we looking for? 

  • Recent experience with Civica (Open Revenues) not 'Civica Pay'.
  • Local authority council tax and business rates recovery experience.
  • Competent level of ICT skills and familiarity with Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and database usage.
  • Excellent negotiation skills to make realistic repayment plans with customers.

This is a temporary role estimated until March 2025.
