Principal Ecologist

Oxford £35,000-£42,000

I am pleased to announce that we are looking for a Principal Ecologist to join an exciting team in Oxford! This consultancy is expanding and are looking for someone friendly and enthusiastic to join the senior team. You will get the opportunity to provide specialist ecological input on a wide range of projects while supporting the team through giving advice on surveys, strategies, and mitigation.

The role of a Principal Ecologist involves:

  • Providing senior support and specialist knowledge to ecological projects.
  • Management of large-scale projects and ecology team members.
  • Tendering and budgeting.

The requirements include:

  • Experience in the ecological industry, including leading a team.
  • Experience in EIA's and knowledge of planning systems.
  • Working knowledge of DEFRA BNG Metric and the principles of Biodiversity Net Gain would be preferable.
