We are currently offering the opportunity for a hard-working and engaging individual to join a waste management company in Oxfordshire. This is a great opportunity for an individual with prior experience, either in the waste sector or permitting sector of the Environment Agency, working as an environmental consultant, or working as a waste operator in environmental monitoring.

Applicants must have current UK work eligibility.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing and acting as the main point of contact for environmental permit applications - including permits related to managing non-hazardous waste and trade effluent,
  • Liaising with the Environment Agency and ensuring that all sites are working in compliance with their environmental permits,
  • Supporting Site Managers during inspections and audits from the Environment Agency.

Current / Recent Experience Required

The ideal candidate will have the following:

  • An academic or professional background related to environmental sustainability or waste management (essential).
  • Prior experience managing or assessing environmental permit applications (desired).
  • Prior experience evaluating compliance with environmental permits (desired).
  • Prior experience working at or liaising with the Environment Agency (desired).

Profile Required:

  • Existing UK work eligibility (essential).
  • Happy to commute / relocate to Oxfordshire (essential).
  • A valid driving licence and access to a car (desired).
