A Finance Manager is sought to spearhead the financial management and strategic planning within a vibrant not-for-profit organisation, based north of Oxford. The role will involve, among other things, creating financial reports, budgeting, and ensuring financial compliance.

Description
The Finance Manager will be responsible for the organisation's finances and adds value by supporting their vision through strategic financial management and governance.

Responsibilities include:
- Budget Management: Oversee project budgets, forecast trends, identify opportunities, and analyze organizational performance through data-driven decision-making.
- Strategic Support: Offer financial insights to the management team and trustees, including identifying and mitigating strategic and operational financial risks.
- Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team (currently one management accountant), fostering positive, productive, and supportive team relationships.
- Core Finance Functions: Supervise multi-currency payables, receivables, bank reconciliations, and general ledger reconciliations.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate financial statements and management accounts, providing quality reports for the management team, trustees, and sub-committee meetings.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, track the organization's financial performance, and conduct budget variance analysis of project P&Ls.
- Audit Management: Oversee the finance year-end process and the charity's annual and other audits, maintaining day-to-day relationships with auditors and preparing the necessary statements.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to donor requirements and national legislation, navigating and communicating compliance effectively.
- Internal Controls: Maintain robust financial systems (including payroll and banking systems), policies, procedures, and controls in line with regulatory requirements.
- Cash Management: Monitor and manage cash flow across multiple bank accounts in GBP, EUR, and USD.
- Payroll Management: Handle payroll calculations, submissions on Bright Pay, pension administration, payroll year-end schedules, and PSA calculation and submission.
- Charity Governance: Perform Company Secretary duties, ensuring timely and accurate statutory filings with Companies House and The Charity Commission.
Profile
A successful Finance Manager should have:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Extensive experience of leading financial management for organisations.
- Experience within the non-profit sector, with a thorough understanding of charity specific financial obligations.
- Excellent communication and written skills
- Ability to manage a diverse and busy workload, prioritising effectively, and able to work both autonomously and as a member of a dispersed team.
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to work with a wide range and varying levels of stakeholders and demonstrates discretion, diplomacy, and patience
- Motivated, takes initiative, able to diagnose situations and constraints, innovates and delivers to deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail
Job Offer
- Salary range of approximately £55,000 - £60,000 per annum.
