Head of Finance £80,000 - £100,000 + bonus + hybrid working

Head of Finance

Robert Half are working with a rapidly growing business based in Oxford to recruit a newly-created Head of Finance position due to a restructure of the team. The business is hugely inquisitive and have been growing at an exponential rate through acquisition and therefore need an experienced Senior Finance leader to help grow the division.

This really is an all-encompassing role that incorporates most areas of accounting from overseeing the production of management and statutory accounts, year-end, audit etc. and whilst a strong technical background is key - one of the most important aspects of the role is also building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and the ability to business partner with operations and the wider business.

Due to the fast-paced nature of the business and ever-changing environment - this role requires a strong leader with proven experience of managing small to medium sized teams, as well as enjoying developing and building departments inline with business growth.

The Role

  • Build, manage and lead a team of 8-10 staff
  • Develop and deliver the financial plans and reporting including:
    • Oversee monthly management accounts for the business units, quarterly rolling forecasts and annual statutory accounts
    • Oversee the production of MI
  • Business partnering with Operations and wider business units to offer commercial advice and support with budgeting, pricing and planning.
  • Develop action plans to measure and analyse financial results
  • Review business performance against forecasts and budgets
  • Streamline processes and inefficiencies through automation and process improvement strategies
  • Support M&A activity
  • Prepare and/or review quarterly tax packs and provisions.
  • Preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Variance analyses, tax computations and cash flow forecasts
  • Oversight of the end-to-end process for financial transactions including billing, accounts payable, cash allocation, credit control and management accounting.
  • Assisting external auditors

Your Profile

  • Qualified Accountant - ACCA/CIMA/ACA
  • Proven experience with leading a team
  • Strong partnering skills and ability to build relationships
  • Understanding of IFRS
  • M&A experience is advantageous but not a pre-requisite - but an eagerness to develop in this area is key
  • Driven and ambitious in nature!
