The Opportunity

Thompson & Terry Recruitment are working with a long standing friend of the firm, who are looking to recruit a solution-focused HR Consultant to join their friendly team.?

As HR Consultant, you will work closely with a number of retained clients across several sectors to act as their HR department and support with ongoing HR needs. It is therefore really important that the successful candidate is confident to quickly build rapport and trust, but also holds strong HR knowledge to be able to deliver.

The majority of your clients will fall under the 'SME’ umbrella and often have no 'on-site’ HR function, therefore you will be responsible for managing the full HR cycle from initial onboarding to employee relations. During regular communication with your clients, it’s really important you are able to enable them to open up, so you are able to provide effective and accurate support, for often specific needs.

The successful HR Consultant will be responsible for managing multiple projects simultaneously and will be heavily involved in employee relations, therefore it is important to be confident when dealing with complex situations and able to advise on best practice, but also at times break bad news.

Equally, you will be responsible for writing supporting documents, letters and policies for your clients, that are often bespoke to their business. Therefore, it is vital that the successful candidate has a solid working knowledge of HR policies and employment law, with the confidence to find the answer in order to fill any gaps.

Requirements

  • Level 7 CIPD qualified with experience of working within a HR Consultancy environment
  • Strong relationship building skills with the ability to build trust with your clients, but also the confidence to deliver decisions (ER)
  • A strong working HR knowledge with excellent attention to detail in order to write policies and documents for your clients
  • Due to the nature of the role, willingness to travel to local clients and a full UK Driving License with access to your own vehicle is essential??
