- Manage a caseload of files, dealing effectively with cases and transactions.
- Build credibility with clients and develop own client relationships through managing client expectations regarding options, outcomes, risk and timescales.
- Scope fees for existing clients
- Grow internal and external networks of clients, intermediaries and contacts.
- Build on personal and department profile and reputation by attending networking events, writing publications/ marketing materials and speaking at seminars.
- Take responsibility for managing aspects of projects that are delegated and meet deadlines.
- Support juniors in the team by giving technical, business and general advice.
- Ensure a good flow of communication to senior lawyers but also more junior members of the team
- Track progress against your own KPIs, meeting targets
- Support with budgetary management of client matters
- Apply all business processes and use resources effectively & efficiently.
- Understand the changes in the practice area/legal sector and the implications for the firm.
- Previous experience of managing a residential property caseload
- Qualified fee earner 2PQE+
- Ability to manage own files and delegate work to others
- Strong client management skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service
