Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  1. Teaching & Learning:

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum.
    • Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students in the class.
    • Assess and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
  2. Classroom Management:

    • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning.
    • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to ensure a safe and productive learning atmosphere.
  3. Lesson Planning:

    • Prepare creative and differentiated lesson plans tailored to meet the needs of individual students.
    • Incorporate a range of teaching techniques, resources, and activities to maintain student engagement.
  4. Collaboration & Communication:

    • Work closely with colleagues, teaching assistants, and senior leadership to ensure continuity of education.
    • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child's progress and areas for improvement.
  5. Curriculum Delivery:

    • Deliver a broad and balanced curriculum that promotes the intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of students.
    • Encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a passion for learning across all subjects.
  6. Professional Development:

    • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities to enhance your teaching skills and stay current with educational best practices.
  7. Safeguarding & Welfare:

    • Ensure the safety and welfare of all students in your care, following school policies and procedures on safeguarding and child protection.
    • Address any concerns about student welfare in collaboration with the school's designated safeguarding lead.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Proven experience teaching in a primary school setting (KS1 or KS2).
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and assessment strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of diverse learners.
