Project Engineer

We are looking to strengthen our Engineering team with Experienced Project Engineers with specialist skills in Engineering Design, Electrical Engineering and/or Technical Project Management to work on rail projects from initial brief, through the design and development stage, testing, manufacture and implementation of an efficient and cost-effective engineering project management process for each project lifecycle.THE ROLE:• To develop project plans and integrate engineering specifications with production schedules to meet the overall requirements of the client in the most cost effective and reliable manner.• Project planning, structuring and scheduling ensuring all key stakeholders are involved and information is effectively documented and shared.• Monitor, develop and progress the project plan/schedule - acting as the link between the client, engineering and production to ensure critical tasks and milestones are met.• Development and use of Bills of Material to record material requirements for each project and work with procurements to place orders.• Day to day involvement in delivering the project requirements in terms of interpretation of drawing and engineering specifications, materials ordering and progressing quality control.• Drafting and / or signing off project documentation relating to work completed and working within production to ensure critical tasks are completed by properly assessed and competent staff.• Assist the Engineering and Project management team in developing a standard set of project management principles.  Engage with key stakeholders to ensure these principles are accepted and implemented and work to improve existing documentation to meet a consistently high standard.• Ensure that all Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are in place and observed.KEY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:• Experienced project engineer in a fast-paced environment.• Relevant project management qualification is highly desirable.• High level of understanding engineering drawings and writing technical documents / work instructions from them.• Good communication skills, able to brief staff and customers on progress and next steps.• Problem solving skills, identifying solutions to issues arising or facilitate with the appropriate person.• Commercial and Financial awareness, able to understand project costs and identify efficiencies.• Proficient in Microsoft suite, including MS Project and Power Point – a good understanding of CAD packages would be helpful, but not an essential part of the role.• Technical, Electrical or Engineering qualifications or experience preferably gained in the rail or other high hazard industry are desirable.• Able to manage conflicting priorities and communicate cross teams effectively.SALARY & BENEFITS:- Up to £51,500, dependent on experience and qualifications- Employee Assistance Programme- Private medical insurance- Contributory pension- Health shield scheme- And other employee benefits.Please apply today by sending your CV.No overseas applicants please; visa applications not considered.Candidate Source Ltd is an advertising agency.
