To continue growth, we are looking for a dedicated and skilled Service Engineer to join our clients team.
Role Overview:
As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of our advanced welding equipment and systems. You will work directly with customers to provide technical support and ensure smooth operation of the equipment, maximising uptime and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong customer service focus.
Key Responsibilities:
路 Installation & Commissioning: Perform on-site installation and setup of company equipment and systems.
路 Maintenance & Repairs: Carry out preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of welding machines and automation systems, with a focus on industrial 3-phase systems.
路 Mechanical, Pneumatics & Hydraulics: Fault finding and repair of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems associated with welding equipment.
路 Electrical Support: Perform electrical diagnostics and fault finding, including experience with industrial 3-phase systems.
路 PAT Testing & Fume Extraction: Carry out Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) and maintenance of fume extraction systems to ensure equipment compliance and safety.
路 Customer Support: Provide on-site support, remote assistance, and training to customers.
路 Technical Guidance: Offer expert advice to customers on equipment performance, troubleshooting, and optimal usage.
路 Documentation: Maintain detailed service records, including equipment manuals and service reports.
路 Collaboration: Work closely with the engineering team to ensure the delivery of tailored solutions for client needs.
Qualifications & Skills:
路 Education: Electrical qualification (NC or HNC) in Electrical Engineering or a related field is essential.
路 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in servicing welding equipment or similar industrial technology, with a strong focus on 3-phase systems.
路 Electrical Expertise: Experience in electrical fault finding, industrial 3-phase systems, and an understanding of wiring diagrams.
路 Mechanical & Hydraulic: Experience with mechanical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics, with a focus on troubleshooting and repair.
路 Certifications:
o 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (desirable)
o PAT Testing (preferred)
路 Customer Service Focus: Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently and professionally with clients, always providing excellent customer service.
路 Problem-Solving: Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
路 Travel: Willingness to travel to customer sites (domestic and international, as needed).
路 Desirable: Experience with fume extraction systems and other welding-related safety equipment.
