Opportunity Operations Assistant KilmarnockSalary: £12,667 - 21 hours per week – includes evenings and weekends Job Role/Description This is an exciting and varied role that will give you the opportunity to work within Take A Bow Opportunity Centre. Developing the Trust’s vision and working closely with a small team to ensure effective development of the centre’s opportunities are reached. Reporting directly to the Opportunity Operations Coordinator, you will be passionate about working with communities and local people. You will have excellent people and relationship building skills, be well organised and able to work on your own initiative. With a 'can-do' attitude, you will take the initiative and be creative in problem solving. You will support the development of a range of services and initiatives in partnership with residents, stakeholders, participants and the voluntary and community sector. This role requires you to build relationships with the residents, community representatives and community groups while supporting the centre’s development.This role will help lead Take A Bow Development Trust into the next phase of its development and progression. Key responsibilities: • To take bookings, support and supervise lets and set up equipment • Maintain equipment and ensure cleanliness of the building • Liaising with customers and external agencies • Support the development of an opportunities programme to suit local need • Build and maintain relationships with centre users, local community, partner organisations • Undertaking training to further develop skills and to maintain high quality standards of work • To provide a front-of-house reception service for customers • To maintain user records relating to bookings and use of the facility • To deal with general queries from users of the Opportunity centre by phone or in person • To maintain and work within the opportunity centres Health and Safety procedures • Support aims and ethos of the Take A Bow Development Trust, setting a good example in terms of dress, behaviour, punctuality and attendance • Maintain confidentiality in and outside the workplace. • To perform any other reasonable duties required by Opportunity coordinator You will ideally possess some of the following skills, knowledge and experience: • Ability to develop new ideas and support the development of an opportunities programme • Supporting the delivery of a range of activities • Able to work effectively as part of a team • Good planning and organisational skills • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills • Able to work independently • Experience of using email, internet, word processing and spreadsheet packaged with good attention to detail • Experience of working face to face with the public • Knowledge of health and safety procedures Desirable Personal Qualities Include:• Enthusiastic approach• Positive attitude • Passionate about supporting people • Keen to learn new skills and drive personal development • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends • Proactive • Well organised and able to prioritise workload • Able to manage time effectively and work to deadlines • A keen interest in the arts Conditions of Employment Salary: £12,667Hours: 21 hours per week – includes evenings and weekends Annual Leave: 5.5 weeks – 110 hours (inclusive of all public holidays) Notice period: 4 weeks Contract Period: Permanent The post holder will be expected to participate in training and personal development opportunities.
