Assistant Service Manager - Refrigeration Industry
A well-established manufacturer of bespoke walk-in cold rooms and mortuary suites, based in King's Lynn, is looking to expand and improve its aftercare support through the addition of a new Assistant Service Manager.



About the Role


This is a full-time, office-based position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM. The role includes:

  • Competitive salary (around 45k)

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting the Service Manager, including covering duties during their absence
  • Communicating confidently with clients to establish service requirements
  • Coordinating service engineers to diagnose faults and manage any necessary remedial work
  • Processing paperwork and relevant charges post-service completion
  • Helping to establish a spare parts inventory and assisting in picking and packing parts
  • Identifying warranty trends and working towards effective solutions
  • Ensuring technical compliance through the issue of RAMS and sign-off procedures


Ideal Candidate


This role would suit someone with refrigeration experience who may be looking to step back from hands-on site work. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum technician qualification (City & Guilds 2079) and ideally an electrical qualification or time-served experience
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • The ability to read wiring diagrams and knowledge of RDM & LAE controls (beneficial)
  • Experience issuing RAMS and working within evolving industry regulations, including natural refrigerants and A2Ls
  • Excellent communication skills, both with clients and technicians, to help achieve first-time fixes
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email management
  • A commercial mindset, ensuring clients receive a value-added service
