Product and Quality Manager

Fresh People are currently looking to recruit a Product & Quality Managerto join our Fresh Produce clientbased in Kings Hill.This role focuses on ensuring product quality, operational excellence, and effective service provider management within the fresh produce industry.

The Candidate

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with experience in product quality management within the fresh produce industry. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure are essential. Experience in managing supply chain operations, quality audits, and supplier relationships is highly desirable.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Ensure service providers follow correct allocations and customer requirements for packing and dispatch.
  • Provide regular feedback to service providers on product quality and packing improvements.
  • Manage quality monitoring of multiple categories.
  • Drive operational excellence by fostering a culture of quality, innovation, and responsibility.
  • Support daily operations by addressing quality issues, monitoring stock, and reviewing packing standards.
  • Conduct quality inspections, including spot checks, and review intake reports for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with Senior Product Managers to make decisions on stock allocation and product quality.
  • Work with procurement and commercial teams on managing stock levels and product shelf life.
  • Provide daily operational recommendations and ensure proper handling, management, and storage of stock.

Technical / Commercial:

  • Assist with sample preparation, residue testing, and supplier quality visits.
  • Communicate daily quality updates with technical, procurement, and commercial teams.
  • Ensure service providers adhere to approved grower lists and quality standards.

Product and Reporting:

  • Perform daily stock checks, update labelling systems, and review product shelf life.
  • Support yield performance analysis and report on product quality.
  • Provide daily product updates and address quality issues with service providers and growers.
