My client a reputable regional law firm are looking for a meticulous Finance Assistant to support their financial department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling clerical tasks in the finance department and ensuring the company’s financial operations are maintained in an effective and accurate manner.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with legal and company accounting and financial guidelines.
  • Maintain and update accounting records and files with meticulous accuracy.
  • Analyse budgets, financial reports and projections for accurate reporting.
  • Manage tax payments and returns, and ensure all financial transactions are properly recorded.
  • Post financial transactions in the general ledger and conduct monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with the preparation and administration of the budget, financial forecasts, and statements.
  • Provide administrative support during the budget preparation process and participate in financial audits.
  • Handle sensitive or confidential information with honesty and integrity.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven work experience as a Finance Assistant, Finance Officer or similar role, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting and financial reporting principles and practices.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors.
  • AAT Level 3 or 4, Semi Qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA or qualified by experience.
  • Experience of using Leap (preferred)
