JAM Staffing Solutions have a new opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer on behalf of our client based in Kingswinford. 

JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Engineer will proactively provide quality engineering support to the Quality Department. The Quality Engineer will support in the maintenance and development of the company’s management systems and the day to day running of the quality department, including support of customer service issues.

The Quality Engineer will provide quality support to the rest of the business where its deemed necessary.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):

Ensuring requirements of the company Quality Policy and Quality Objectives are met.

To monitor customer and internal concerns and ensure that timely actions are taken, in conjunction with production teams, to prevent recurrence.

Carry out Problem Solving using the 8D process.

Reporting and investigating any instances of non-conformance.

To liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure production and service meets with customer expectations and are achievable within the scope of the organisation.

To liaise with customers and production departments to ensure that any technical or supply issues are resolved in a timely manner.

Liaison with other departments on quality related issues.

To complete audits to a good standard in line with system schedules.

To maintain and assist with the development of company quality management systems and procedures.

To maintain and record data applicable to the quality assurance function and company systems.

Establishing, Implementing & Maintaining Quality awareness across sites

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

Must have 3 years previous experience in a fast-paced Quality Engineering role.

Must be Capable of making independent decisions, whilst being appreciative of other departments.

Must have Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel & Power point.

Must have core tools experience such as SPC / MSA / FMEA / PPAP / AQP / 8D.

Must have Experience with creating, implementing and maintaining Control Plans & FMEA’s.

Knowledge of Health & Safety requirements would be beneficial.

Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 standards would be beneficial.

Auditing experience to ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016 would be beneficial.

To hold Lead Auditing certificates for the above accreditations would be an advantage.

JOB ACTIVITIES:

To communicate with and train company personnel to understand the Quality Management Systems and changes to the system.

To maintain and record performance measurements (KPI’s) and any other relevant quality records.

Working as a team of 3

To maintain a detailed understanding of all necessary standards and keep up to date with tools and techniques and train others in their application.

To analyse internal and customer concerns and internal rejects.

To control a register of internal and customer rejects.

To produce supporting documentation for new / changed product introductions as required by the customer.

To attend meetings as necessary to report on quality issues and requirements.

To lead team orientated problem solving and improvement activities as appropriate.

To support the training and development of other members of the department and associated functions.

To liaise with customers to resolve technical and quality queries.

To carry out internal audits in accordance with agreed schedules.

To carry out routine process audits with agreed schedules.

To assist the Quality Assurance Manager and Quality Conformance Engineer in the maintenance of the company quality systems.

To monitor customer concerns and ensure that timely actions are taken, in conjunction with production teams, to prevent recurrence.

General inspection type activities as and when required.

To complete ISIR & PPAP when required.

To support Commercial, Technical & Production with New Product Introductions as and when required.

Analyse Root Causes and Implement Corrective actions for customer concerns.

Any other activities deemed reasonable by your Line Manager.

WORKING HOURS:

Monday to Friday, 08:00-16:05
