Your new companyHays are working with a successful organisation in Kingswinford who are looking for an Italian and/or German and/or Dutch-speaking credit controller to join their finance team.Your new roleThe role is reporting to the Credit Control Supervisor and will be part of a team of 6, tackling some older, aged debt, and clearing up or matching older unallocated balances / credits in conjunction with this. You must have a good standard of English and Italian and/or German and/or Dutch (written and spoken), and a tenacious, proactive attitude to completing these tasks.

  • Shared Responsibility for Europe, RoW and UK Sales Ledgers and for chasing aged debt.
  • Maintenance of Sales Ledger(s).
  • Chasing customers for cash, agreeing next steps and taking customers to be legal where required.
  • Customer query resolution, including chasing up other departments for action.
  • Managing the Credit Control email box.
  • Requesting and/or raising credit notes, as required.
  • Open pro forma accounts
  • Performing credit checks, as required.
  • Take customer payments using a virtual terminal or otherwise.
  • Cash posting to the ledger and settlement of open transactions.
  • Invoicing customers.
  • Organising and providing relevant paperwork/backup with certain types of invoices.
  • Running, and updating weekly reports and sending out to internal stakeholders.
  • Playing an active role in the continuous improvement of the department.
  • Any other ad hoc admin duties.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Prior experience of working within a fast in paced, complex manufacturing business and a European SSC environment.
  • Minimum 5 years working in high volume credit control department.
  • Chasing debt and taking cases legal where agreed.
  • Experience with Microsoft AX/D365 would be a key advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, Italian and/or Dutch and/or French.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel
  • High level of organisation skills
  • High level of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail
