What do the team do?

The Business team provides a mix of accounting services, including bookkeeping, forecasting, year end accounts preparations and tax returns. They have a relationship centric approach and are trusted advisors to clients of all shapes and sizes, but they are typically owner managed businesses, giving you the opportunity to deal directly with the decision makers and to truly help shape the direction of their firm.

What will I be doing?

As an Senior Manager / Associate Director in the Business team you will have ownership of the following tasks:

  • Management of a large portfolio of clients including everything from workforce planning, management of WIP and billing.
  • Demonstrating a clear understanding of assignment plans and briefing team members accordingly.
  • Delegating work to more junior members of the team and ensuring work is done on budget.
  • Signing off on files prepared by more junior team members and producing completed files for final partner review.
  • Working with partner to plan ahead and effectively manage workflow for team.
  • Building and further developing client relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Supporting with wider tasks such as business development, training and interviews.

What experience do I need?

Whilst having the following experience is advantageous, we value passion and potential. If you meet the minimum criteria listed below and are eager to develop yourself, we would love to hear from you:

  • A professional accounting qualification - ACA or ACCA (minimum criteria)
  • Proven ability to manage a large portfolio of statutory/management accounts preparation jobs and delegate work effectively (minimum criteria).
  • Client facing experience.
  • Commercially focused and able to spot new business opportunities.
  • Experience of accounting software and Microsoft packages.
