Quality Engineer

Global automotive manufacturer requires a Quality Engineer responsible for all aspects of the quality function. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a fast-paced, customer focused automotive manufacturing environment.

The role:

  • Ensure customer relationships by effective management of non - conformance and complaint resolution
  • Assure the control plan execution and PFMEA updates
  • Support APQP, new product introduction, product change, core tool implementation and optimisation
  • Ensure and drive the implementation and adherence of quality standards
  • Implement the quality procedures in the industrialization and serial life phase
  • Ensure compliance regulatory standards for manufactured and purchased products
  • Coordinate and manage Quality auditors
  • Ensure accordance with the Quality Management Systems IATF 16949, ISO 9001
  • Assure the correct application of problem-solving methodologies and audits
  • Ensure supplier conformance, manage 8D process, monitor non-conformance and implement action plans
  • Provide training to production team members in relation to new products and quality standards
  • Identify & lead improvement projects focused on quality, cost and delivery
  • Manage control of documents, deviation and change control

The Person:

  • A proactive quality professional who is consistently looking for improvement opportunities
  • Degree qualified in Engineering
  • Previous experience in quality engineering within automotive manufacturing or similar
  • Expert knowledge of APQP tools and 8D problem solving
  • Be fully conversant ISO9001 and IATF16949
  • Proven background in managing and implementing change and improvements
  • Be self-motivated and driven with the desire to self-develop and progress
  • Expert knowledge of APQP tools and 8D problem solving
  • Be fully conversant ISO9001 and IATF16949
  • Be a confident trainer and mentor
  • Be a strong influencer able to change mind sets and promote the benefits of improvement at all levels
