The UKs leading recycling management company who are proudly making an impact on saving the planet, has a brilliant opportunity for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join its growing team in South Lanarkshire. You will be working with a team of engineers within a new, state of the art, purpose-built recycling centre on a Monday to Friday dayshift basis (half day Friday early Finish).

You will receive employment stability and a starting remuneration that equates to £37,500 per year, along with plenty overtime opportunities (paid at time and a third) and good benefits including, employer contribution pension scheme, a health cash back plan, death in service cover and an employee assistance programme.

As Mechanical Maintenance Engineer you will be working within the recycling facility and will have the following responsibilities:
  • Maintaining a wide range of modern recycling and refuse equipment and machinery within a modern plant.
  • Carrying out a proactive preventive schedule and quickly dealing with reactive mechanical repairs.
  • Working on various welding and fabrication tasks expected within a mid to heavy engineering environment.
  • Working Monday to Friday dayshift with half day finish on a Friday to ensure machines and equipment on site are safe, working efficiently and fit for purpose.

We are looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer who has the following skills and experiences:
  • Be a time served mechanical engineer educated to minimum HNC level.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of factory process, heavy plant and mechanical maintenance/repair with good fault finding and troubleshooting expereince.
  • Proven fabrication and welding experience, using MIG/Stick welding.
  • Knowledge of control systems, mechanical, pneumatics and hydraulics, and conveyors.
  • Proven ability to work safely, independently and manage a busy workload in an efficient,
  • Good PC Skills.
  • Comfortability working in a recycling/waste environment and have a flexible can-do approach. There will be overtime opportunities.
