Job Title: Part Qualified SME Accountant

Location: Hybrid / Office (3 days per week minimum)

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain financial records for a portfolio of clients
  • Prepare and review self-assessment tax returns
  • Provide basic personal and corporate tax advice
  • Finalise annual and corporation accounts
  • Handle HMRC queries and correspondence
  • Deliver exceptional customer service via phone and email
  • Promote quality service to enhance client retention and growth
  • Prepare and review VAT returns
  • Report on personal and team performance to management
  • Attend client meetings as necessary
  • Collaborate effectively within the team to achieve company goals
  • Act as an ambassador for the organisation, upholding high standards of behaviour
  • Commit to personal professional development and share knowledge with peers

Essential (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Currently studying towards ACA or ACCA
  • Fully qualified to AAT
  • Attention to detail and a proactive attitude
  • Motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to excellence
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong time management and prioritisation abilities
  • Proficient IT skills, especially in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Solid understanding of company and personal taxation
  • Knowledge of VAT preparation

Desirable (Knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience):

  • Fully qualified to ACA or ACCA
  • Previous experience in preparing annual accounts
  • Familiarity with accounting software

Technologies:

    • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
