Location: Lancaster area Salary: DOE Reporting to: Factory Manager

Hours - Mon - Thursday 8.00am - 4.30pm , Friday 8.00-13.30pm

By Agreement - Flexible working - core hours Mon- Thurs 9.30 - 3.30 Friday 9.00- 12.00

Holidays: 33 days holiday a year - (25 plus 8 bank holidays ) plus excellent benefits package

The Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to work for our client's manufacturing site based in the Lancaster area. Reporting to the Factory Manager, the successful applicant will be a key person to drive continuous improvement within the manufacturing processes. This is a great opportunity to have a measurable impact on the business performance by demonstrating the highest standards of quality engineering and process control.

General Role Responsibilities:

Conduct process audits to monitor compliance with company, customer and regulatory requirements

Coordinate and support focused improvement activities to reduce Cost of Quality and improved FPY (first pass yield)

Preparation of Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for submission to Factory Manager

Assist in reviewing and updating procedures and forms to support the Quality Management System

Facilitate customer complaint investigations

Work with supply chain on supplier corrective actions (SPPM)

Oversea calibration of all measurement devices

Facilitate audits from external regulatory bodies (e.g. ISO9001, BS, etc) and third party inspectors.

Facilitate Internal Non-conformance report reviews

To Continue the effective roll-out of the MRB process

Support any new product development introduction

Undertake product First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR)

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

Quality / Engineering Qualification

Knowledgeable on manufacturing processes and ability to find/develop engineered solutions.

Excellent communication skills, essential for both internal and external contacts with employees, customers and suppliers A team member who can demonstrate maturity, independent thinking, flexibility, creativity and be prepared to work to tight deadlines when required

Strong analytical skills

Excellent IT skills (Word, PowerPoint and Excel)

Familiarity with ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems

Internal auditing experience

Knowledge of problem solving / engineering /continuous improvement processes (Lean manufacturing, 5Y, FMEA)

Close attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Understanding of technical documentation
