An opportunity has arisen for an experienced product development /analytical chemist in the Northwest of UK.

The purpose of this job is to analyse pharmaceutical raw materials and finished products and delivering accurate results within an acceptable timeframe.

Duties:

The role involves conducting routine and non-routine analyses, reviewing data for GMP compliance, handling OOS results, preparing reports, and documenting data in accordance with client policies. Responsibilities also include measuring productivity, approving test results, addressing customer queries, supporting audits, performing QC testing, revising SOPs, and ensuring all documentation meets quality standards. Additionally, the role includes mentoring junior team members.

Qualification and Experience

  • BSc in Chemistry or a related discipline.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical analysis within a development laboratory or equivalent setting.
  • Proficiency in analytical techniques and modern instruments (HPLC, Karl Fischer, Dissolution, UV spectroscopy) with skills in data interpretation and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in method development, validation, and familiarity with DryLab.
  • Strong knowledge of chromatographic techniques and GMP requirements.

The product development Chemist will have:

Good communication and computer skills, also, to be self-motivated, flexible, well organised with excellent problem-solving skills.
