Business Development Manager - Protective Packaging

£40,000 + Quarterly Commission + Benefits

The Client

Our client manufactures a full range of Protective Packaging equipment for void fill and wrap-around protection used in the transportation of goods throughout the entire business market. To complement this equipment, they also produce in their own factories the film used throughout this equipment. Furthermore, they have partnerships worldwide producing equipment and consumables to add to the branded products. Due to their success in winning business in the South of the UK from their UK office, they’re seeking an experience new business hunter to work remotely in the North of England.

The Role

Based within the territory, and reporting to the UK Managing Director, you will be responsible for building relationships with brand new customers within targeted industry sectors such as Retail. The role has a high level of autonomy and requires a significant amount of contact time with customers: advising on product selection to suit each customer’s specific requirements. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Plan, manage and control sales development to achieve agreed sales margin, sales volume and product mix objectives.
  • Translate customer needs into business strategy to capture commercial sales. Recognize and pursue new market segments and opportunities for business development.
  • Win and manage a book of accounts.
  • Cross sell the full range of company products when appropriate.
  • Liaise closely with internal sales and colleagues in other departments.
  • Cover of the main channels to market, OEM, End User and Distributors
  • Seek out, understand and report to the management team any industry trends and movements.
  • Ensure CRM and Pipeline management tools are used and updated.
