Qualifications:
Have or be willing to work towards a Care Certificate

Have or be willing to work towards Health & Social Care Diploma Level 2 or 3

Demonstrate an appropriate standard of literacy and numeracy to undertake the role

Knowledge and Experience:

Be aware of the importance of equity and opportunity for students to prepare for and access fulfilling lives as young adults

Awareness and empathy with special school leavers, parents and carers and the opportunities that are necessary for individuals to fulfil their potential.

Experience of working in the health and social care profession

Skills:

Good interpersonal skills and able to create positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents and other professionals.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Able to provide personal care for ambulatory and non-ambulatory students as required, following the training provided.

Positive, can-do approach, which equips, empowers and enables students to fulfil their potential

Resilience and self-confidence, able to work independently and as part of a team with professionalism and integrity to provide person centred care within a caring environment
