The OpportunityAre you a dynamic leader with a passion for driving commercial innovation?We are delighted to be working closely with a leading B2B food manufacturer to recruit a General Manager to lead a flagship site. This site specialises in producing high-quality products for retail and foodservice manufacturers, and as head of this site, you will lead the Commercial, Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, HSE and Technical teams to realise the 5-year growth plan.The Role:Key Responsibilities and Performance Indicators:
  • Leadership: Oversee the transformation of the site into a separate business unit with its own P&L. Achieve financial targets through margin enhancement and cost control.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure efficient operations with a focus on cost control and process improvement. Implement best practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Commercial Innovation: Drive new commercial models and strategic growth initiatives. Develop and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships.
  • Financial Management: Manage P&L, set budgets, and ensure financial targets are met. Interpret commercial data to ensure adherence to budgeted targets.
  • Customer & Supplier Relationships: Maintain strong relationships and develop strategic alliances. Drive commercial growth and new product development.
  • Health & Safety: Promote a strong H&S culture and ensure compliance. Lead a strong Health Safety & Environment culture.
  • People Management: Lead and develop the site management team, fostering a positive culture. Build and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
The Person:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Operations, or related field (desirable).
  • Proven success as a senior leader in the food industry.
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in leading operations of a single site/business unit in food manufacturing.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in P&L management.
  • Ability to handle pressurised situations and make confident decisions.
  • Inspirational leadership with the ability to motivate teams.
