Dalton Recruitment is very pleased to be partnering with this National support services firm to secure them a new Regional HR Business Partner for its Northern region.

With an HR background in multi-site, dispersed blue collar operations, the HR Business Partner will provide day to day support and strategic HR advice to the Regional Operations Director and site General Managers to allow them to achieve their business goals including leading the people agenda for any change/transformation work relevant to the business area and ensuring the smooth delivery of the operational HR service across their Northern regional sites.

Joining a national Business Partnering team of 4 , with wider HR team support, and reporting to the HR Director, this role requires someone with the confidence and enthusiasm to be out travelling to the 9 sites as required (roughly 4 days/week) with one from home (to catch up on correspondence, admin etc).

The role allows for much self-management and autonomy over your work diary but it is a busy, active role covering a wide geography and therefore does need someone able to commit to changing schedule. It does however offer a genuine business partnering opportunity and with it the responsibility to deliver a first class HR service which really positively impacts the business and its employees.

Previous experience within the support services sector is advantageous but as long as skills are transferable, candidates from other sectors will hold equal weight. What is essential is an inner understanding to the complexities and challenges of delivering an HR service in a dispersed blue collar workforce, TUPE in/out, complex employee relations etc.

The role offer a competetive salary circa £65K wih a 15% bonus, car or car allowance + benefits.

There is a full job spec available with all responsibilities on request but the person specification is as follows:

  • Proven working experience as HR manager or other HR Business Partner
  • Experience of working in a blue-collar environment
  • People oriented and results driven
  • People management experience (managing remote team members)
  • Demonstrable experience with human resources metrics
  • Knowledge of HR systems and databases
  • Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Competence to build and effectively manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the company
  • In-depth knowledge of UK employment Law and HR best practices
  • Experience of working within a highly focused environment
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships across all levels of management and external stakeholders
  • Highly customer focussed
  • Attention to detail with excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Ability to make decisions independently
  • Problem solving/analytical ability
  • Ability to deliver quality results under pressure
  • Flexibility to work unsocial hours if necessary
