Are you a qualified Teaching Assistant with prior experience in nursery, SEN, or 1:1 settings? This opportunity is based in Lancaster, offering a chance to work one-on-one with a nursery pupil.

In this role, you'll play a crucial part in supporting a non-verbal child in the nursery. Your experience in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) students is highly valued. We're seeking someone reliable and adaptable, who can meet the child's individual needs and keep them motivated. Full-time hours are available from Monday to Friday, 8:45 AM - 3:15 PM.

Responsibilities:

  • Utilisation and development of 1:1 resources.
  • Experience working with SEN pupils
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and TA's to organise appropriate activities.
  • Liaise with other professionals such as Teacher's, TA, specialist support staff.
  • Work closely with other LSA's and support staff.
  • Work with classes, small groups and with children on a one to one basis.
  • Prepare and develop class displays.
  • Keep up to date records of the pupil's progress and contribute to the child's EHCP plan.
  • Create a calm environment where learning can take place.

Essential requirements:

  • Work on a 1:1 or small group basis with children who have Special Educational Needs
  • Experience of working with young people.
  • Be comfortable and confident in managing challenging behaviours.
  • Ability to engage with, and build rapport with young people.
  • Be creative, proactive and flexible in their supporting style.
  • TA qualified. L2/3.
